Launched the first medical device "AT Measure" utilizing C-STRETCH®.

Bando Chemical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture) has been working on the development of medical devices utilizing its independently developed elastic strain sensor "C-STRETCH®". We are pleased to announce that our consolidated subsidiary, Aimedic MMT Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo), has developed a medical device "AT Measure" that applies "C-STRETCH®" technology, and will launch its sales on October 26, 2012.
1. background
As one of its new business pillars, the Group has been promoting development related to "respiratory rate measurement," "joint range of motion measurement," and "swallowing evaluation" utilizing the C-STRETCH® elastic strain sensor. In addition, in May 2019, we incorporated Aimedic MMT Corporation, a medical device manufacturer, into our group and have been working to quickly establish our medical and healthcare device business. We have decided to manufacture the "AT Measure "* as a medical device (registered as a manufacturer in July of this year) and sell it from Aimedic MMT Inc.
2. New Product Features
(1) The "AT Measure" is mainly intended for use in the field of orthopedics, where the "evaluation of ankle joint instability," which until now has been subjectively evaluated by examiners, can be measured and objectified (quantified) by applying the technology of the "C-STRETCH®" elastic strain sensor.
(2) In addition to orthopedics, we believe that it can be used by rehabilitation departments to assess the condition and recovery of the ankle joint.

Following the AT Major, the Group is developing medical devices and healthcare equipment in the respiratory field, aiming to establish a medical and healthcare equipment business as soon as possible.
